With four bedrooms and a swimming pool, the property comprises two stand-alone villas, each with their own living areas and kitchens. The true Zen style blends stunning modern architecture with local materials and imported fixtures and fittings, and is characterized by predominantly ground floor rooms, soaring roofs, fresh white walls and an abundance of light and space.
Living and Dining Area
The spacious, open-plan Living/Dining Room and Kitchen features a soaring roof above an Indian marble tiled floor. Sliding glass doors, which open directly onto the pool deck, offer guests the choice of open-air living and excellent protection and comfort in case of rain and strong winds. The living space is furnished with comfortable sofas, chairs and Persian rugs, and equipped with a large flat screen cable TV, complete with DVD/CD player and high quality sound system with built-in speakers in- and outside.. The dining area is flanked by an alcove showcasing five Buddha statues, and is furnished with a circular dining table that can accommodate up to ten dinner guests. The fresh white walls and antique furnishings display colorful artwork and Asian artifacts including a set of Thai rain drums. A door leads to a guest washroom.
Kitchen
The immaculate, designer kitchen reveals a discriminating taste for functional beauty and cutting-edge style. Crafted in grey terrazzo with hanging lanterns, ample storage space and a large, walk-in cold room for storing both wine and food, it is fully equipped with everything that the cook needs in order to prepare delicious meals.
Study
The air-conditioned, self-contained study is located at the end of the pool deck. It features a cool tiled floor and is furnished with a large desk, bookshelves with a large library and a sofa. If required the study can be converted into a bedroom with two single beds and a bathroom fitted with a washbasin, toilet and shower.
Master Bedroom
The air-conditioned Master Bedroom is situated at ground level and can be accessed from either the Living & Dining Room or from the pool deck. Characterized by a high, pitched roof, the room is furnished with a king size bed complete with white netting drapes that can be drawn closed to envelope the bed along with the TV & DVD player. A mirrored door accesses a walk-in wardrobe incorporating a secret staircase that leads up to a mezzanine above the bedroom. This private space, with its wooden floor, a desk and a sofa, is ideal for meditation. A safe deposit box is fixed inside the wardrobe. The en-suite Master Bathroom rests within its own walled garden planted with palms and potted foxtails. It features a romantic, sunken bathtub open to the sky and the night stars. There is also a double raindrop shower with a Palimanan stone splash back, a toilet, large mirror and a terrazzo vanity unit supporting an extended washbasin. The pool and pool shower can be accessed directly from the bathroom.
Guest Bedroom
Guest Bedroom one is located in a separate smaller building next to the main building. It is furnished with a queen size bed draped in snowy netting, a desk and a fitted wardrobe, and equipped with air-conditioning, a flat TV and DVD player. The en-suite semi open-air bathroom features creamy white Palimanan stone walls and a sloping, partially-open glass roof. It is fitted with a raindrop shower, extended washbasin and a toilet.
Avatar Villa
The other two air-conditioned guest bedrooms are situated in the Avatar Villa. Similar to Guest Bedroom 1, each features a queen size bed, a fitted wardrobe, desk, TV, safe deposit box, artwork and rugs. The sunny, semi open-air bathrooms are planted with giant taro leaves; each is equipped with a raindrop shower, extended washbasin and a toilet. In addition to its two bedrooms, this villa comprises its own well equipped open-plan guest kitchen and large fan-cooled open-air living space with built-in, cushioned seating and a dining table under a soaring roof. The kitchen is fitted with a black terrazzo work top, an oven and a gas hob. There is also a guest washroom. A staircase leads up to a large wide timber-floored mezzanine, from where there is a beautiful view of open skies and green fields with grazing cows, making it hard to believe that VIILLA ZEN is located in the centre of Seminyak. Furnished with sofas and a massage table, this breezy, open-sided room is perfect for massage, meditation, reading or relaxation. A separate mezzanine has been designated as an exercise area and is equipped with an exercise bicycle and a back & body stretcher.
Swimming Pool & Garden
The walled garden is serene and simple, lined with pots of foxtails and a smooth flat lawn. The splendid 16 x 4 meter swimming pool is bounded by an expansive wooden deck, furnished with sun loungers. The Pool has an extra jet pump that allows swimming continuously against a jet stream. The main entrance is heralded by a pergola draped in thunbergia, with a covered car port large enough for two cars. A second exterior door leads directly to the Avatar Villa.
Staff Services
Villa Zen is supported by the exemplary service of a carefully selected team of highly trained, friendly staff who will do everything within their power to ensure that guests at the villa enjoy a truly luxurious and relaxing experience. The team is headed by an in living villa manager speaks excellent English and some French, who will assist guests during the duration of their stay and also oversees and coordinates the staff. The villa manager is also the main cook, and is highly proficient in the preparation of both Asian and Western cuisine; always on hand to pamper and look after every guest needs, and is responsible for the 24-hour security of the villa. Additionally, the team includes two housekeepers, who keep the villa spotlessly clean and tidy, as well as taking care of the daily laundry. Dry cleaning can also be arranged at an extra cost. A chauffeured car and a driver is included in the rental price, the driver speaks well English and German, and one gardener also as the pool attendant. Finally, the handyman will ensure that everything at the property is well maintained and in full working order. The staff are responsible for all the market shopping (at market prices + 20%), in accordance with the whims of the guests. A baby sitting service can be arranged on request.
